• National quality rating and assessment process—rating education and care providers against the National Quality.

• Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships.
• Partnerships.
• High expectations and equity.
• Respect for diversity.
• Ongoing learning and reflective practice.

Outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework:

• Children have a strong sense of identity.
• Children are connected with, and contribute to, their world.
• Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.
• Children are confident and involved learners.
• Children are effective communicators.

How can you monitor strategies put in place, and the impact they have on the child?

• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor and document them regularly.
• Discuss strategy with managers, colleagues and other key stakeholders.
• Discuss the strategy and its impact on the child with the child.
• Think about what works well and why.
• Think about what’s bad and why.
• Consider the short-term and long-term success of the strategy.
• Consider all aspects of your strategy, including:
          – Logistical aspects.
          – Financial aspects.
          –    time frame.
• Strategies are evaluated using a mix of qualitative and quantitative data.
• Record all observations, thoughts and ideas.
